how to make Albumen prints, the process developed in 1850 by Louis Desire
Blanquart- Evrard. It uses the albumen found in egg whites to bind the photographic
chemicals to the paper. Albumen became the dominant form of photographic
printing from 1855 to the turn of the century, peaking in the 1860-90 period.
The sensitized Albumen paper is placed in direct contact with the negative.
The image emerges as a direct result of exposure to light without the aid
of chemical developing solutions.
