The Gum Oil Process was created by Karl Koenig in 1990 and is related to several photographic
print making methods of the 19th Century. It is the successive etchings and applications of oil colours,
which lead to the richness, and dimensionality of the finished print. This is not hand colouring.
Gumoil is a true, though somewhat unpredictable, photographic printmaking technique.
Therefore each image is totally unique. Karena continues to practices and exhibit in this distinctive
process, sharing her indepth knowledge though her workshops.
