LLith printing is a beautiful creative form of black and white printing, offering a variety of different colours. It is similar to normal black and white printing except the developer is a lith developer. Highlights and shadows can be controlled quite independently of each other, giving tremendous control and enhanced creative possibilities. Even without toning, the prints will have a variety of different hues - browns, pinks and olive, depending on the paper used.

Chris Reid, director Blanco Negro Custom Black & White Pro Lab has been printing since 1989. Printing various styles of the lith technique for appox 10 years.

1 The workshop is aimed for printers with at least 12 months experience

2 Gain the knowledge and skills to enjoy the Lith experience in your own darkroom. Procedures require to get started (often the hardest process to work out) and to continue printing though the day.

3 Learn to gauge what negatives are suited

4 Discover the chemistry formulas, paper stock and basic toning techniques.

5 A troubling shooting process to determine what is going wrong or where your print is just going.
