ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This one day informal workshop  will explore many of the invaluable uses of photographic bleaches for the monochrome print worker  The workshop will be in daylight/room light conditions using students own prints.
Each session will consist of theory input, practical demonstration and hands on playtime for all.
We will explore

  1. Local bleaching (‘liquid sunshine’)
  2. ‘Sparkle up’ bleach bath
  3. ‘Bleach-back’ for colour shifts and pseudo lith effects
  4. Various bleach and developer combinations for bleach and redevelopment techniques for adjusting print warmth, coolness, contrast, intensification and ‘second pass’ lith development for colour &/or solarization.
  5. Some toning implications of the above

Many of these techniques are under used or misunderstood. They can be used to give a second life to a print and to lift a good or modest print to a fine print No black and white darkroom printer should be without them!
