Sodium metaborate is a colorless solid chemical compound of sodium, boron, and oxygen with formula NaBO ₂. It is used as a mild alkali accelerator in developers with moderate to high alkalinity, and also helps to avoid the creation of gas when it comes in contact with an acid.
