Time can be measured by the motion of the sun across the sky, the phases of the moon, the swing of a pendulum, and the beat of a heart.

Time continues to tick along as  perfect machines, with its gears governed by the laws of physics, making every aspect of the machine predictable.

But these man made time machines have stopped – frozen in time – stopped by the camera. Each machine has a unique concealed story – their mechanical parts offer an intrigue within their structural precision.

Each photograph is captured on 8 x 10 sheet film and handprinted on 100% cotton paper. The salted paper photographic print process was founded by William Henry Fox Talbot in 1833.
